Commercial for the Net
Creating a Commercial for your website to use on the Net. Why not? All of the big players are using T.V commercials to direct you over to the internet, in one form or another. Be it to their social media pages, or to their website, to finish watching a commercial they had only 30 seconds to use on Cable TV.
Here is a quick commercial
The commercial below, is put together to give a passer by a run down of why someone should use a commercial on the Net, instead of just a Digital, static magazine. Instead of using boring font, or a few pictures of something, to try and get their point across. Although the commercial or video has nothing to do with sales. The point is to keep you passerby’s entertained and to create enough interest for them to spend a little time on your website page. Maybe when they get back to surfing on the net, they will think to themselves…”I want to be remembered too.”
Examples of Commercial s
Some use a pretty woman to get attention, others use zany ideas. Look at the Doritos challenge every year, for wacky commercials. They have a so many entries and or ideas, that have nothing to do with the flavor of the chip in their commercial. Rather, they try and do something that will stick in your head. So the next time you are at the shelf or row of chips, you reach for their brand. Partly because of familiarity, but most of the reason is because it is accepted and brings a recall of a good time when you viewed their commercial.

This commercial
This commercial is done with a surfer because of the term “surfing the Net”. I also threw in my Slogan or tag line of “When they are surfing the Net and you don’t want them to forget!” I think that is the object here, right? Statistics show that people refer to the internet before making their buying decisions. Along with more and more folks are buying off the internet. So a commercial would make sense would it not? Having your website stick out or come across as cutting edge. promotes an image of attentiveness. Even if you are selling costumes for dogs. Would it not be better to have dogs dressed up and moving about in a commercial then a small thumbnail pick?
What kind of commercial should I use?
The commercial Netcommercial recommends, is one that fits your target audience. You cannot please all the people all of the time. Yet, you can please some of the people, some of the time.
Boils down to knowing your demographic. My Brother who is a genius at what he does, tracks peoples buying behaviors via ad clicks and where your Mouse hovers, or the next page you load.
Companies pay huge money to know if their ad is working, which one worked better and how many times it was viewed. With a picture and some text, a consumer can read the page (so you think) because of length of time, or heated a cup of coffee. Or was doing something else completely while your web page was on.
With a video commercial you can get a count, of how many people watch your message. If you are clever enough, you will create different video commercials, with different themes. At the end of each commercial, you give a code for discount. People hang on and use that stuff if they are interested in your product. That code is how you can track which commercial appealed to them or that demographic, which actually converted a looker into a buyer. As well as your video has a counter on how many times it got played.
When I run different ads in magazines, I notice the months the ad ran, as well as the amount of clicks to view my commercial. I then divide the cost of the ad by business received and decide if it was a good rate of return, or go with a different ad or magazine all together. Instead of keep tossing money at a dead end.
Plus if you have catchy commercial advertisements, people tend to bookmark you to share with a friend later or email it. Now there is social media and “liking or tweeting” something to someone. What a great way for free advertisement or at least a return on your investment. Think for a minute…How many people would forward or Tweet your website with nothing but Font or a picture on it? Even with social media you get a count on how many likes you get or re tweets of posts. The time is now. The natural progression of the internet is for your website to have it’s own commercial. Shoot us an email and see what we can put together for you. Just click contact above and put thinking about a commercial in the subject line. We will get back to you and I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised with the detail and price of your commercial(s).

There are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. Net commercials for websites. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game.
