Voice Overs for Website Commercials
Using voice overs in your Website Commercial is a great way to get your point across.
A great way to do a voice over, “in my opinion” for your website commercial; is to write out your message first or type it out. I use Notepad myself, but whatever you are comfortable with. Make sure the message is not too long winded or comes across, as ‘ad copy’; as sometimes referred to.
For instance, you do not want to keep repeating your company name and your slogan, in your voice over. If you notice in this Website Commercial you will see some of the message I want to get across, as written messages on the pictures. This allows the viewer to “Get the message…” without blasting them with ad pitch, via voice over. Furthermore, it allows for subliminal branding or memory recall. Also, people stop listening with their ears and wander with their eyes. Hence graphics on websites, or the the birth of website commercials.
Go over your message a few times, your message should be no longer then 1 minute in length. As the viewer is ready to back click, within 20 seconds, in the first place. Believe me, they will check the time left to determine whether or not they are going to back click, or give it the other 30 seconds left in your website commercial. That is usually where the message or pitch exists anyways, at the closing of your website commercial. If they back click, then you never even get to hit them with your closing line. Timing is of the essence.
Now that your message is polished and timed, lay it down in MP3 format with a program such as Audacity. It is free and has all you need to enhance your voice over or music. By creating the Voice Over in MP3 format and on it’s own; before you mix in background music and layout your pictures or Vi’s-Versa. This will give you greater control of the flow without sounding rushed, or cutoff in your message. In turn, it will also allow you to stretch the length of your pictures as needed, or shorten them up if desired, as you move on to your next point in your message. Allowing more control of the volume of your voice over.
I hope this helps and as always to be considered a real comment, please place the words Voice overs for commercials in the beginning of your comment to be posted.
